[Singapore, 06/07/2026] At Sindo Exports, we take immense pride in supporting projects that blend rich cultural heritage with cutting-edge technology. Recently, we had the privilege of providing technical support for a landmark installation at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS), a pioneer of classical Indian arts in Singapore since 1949.
As SIFAS relocated to its new home at 250/252 Middle Road—nestled within the vibrant Bras Basah-Bugis arts belt—the centerpiece of their new facility was a 135-seat open-air amphitheatre. The goal was clear: create an intimate yet impactful performance space that could handle the nuances of classical Indian disciplines while standing up to the challenges of an outdoor environment.
The Sound of Excellence: QSC L Class
To meet these demands, we worked closely with the SL Pro Group to deploy the QSC L Class platform. This advanced generation of intelligent, active loudspeakers was the perfect fit for a venue requiring both high-output performance and sophisticated control.
The system configuration includes:
- QSC LA112 Line Array Loudspeakers: Deployed in a three-unit-per-side configuration for the front-of-house system, ensuring clear and energetic audio coverage for every seat.
- QSC LS118 Subwoofers: Placed on each side to provide the necessary depth and low-frequency impact for dynamic performances.
- Dante Integration: The system’s onboard Dante connectivity allowed for seamless integration into the modern AV workflow, providing the flexibility SIFAS needs for its 18 different artistic disciplines.
Overcoming Challenges with Intelligent Design
Outdoor installations often present unique hurdles. For SIFAS, the primary challenge was limited rigging points, which made achieving optimal audio coverage without affecting the amphitheatre’s aesthetics a difficult task.
Using the QSC SysNav (System Navigator) App, the technical team was able to model the environment with precision. The Array Installation Modelling (AIM) tool allowed the team to simulate and visualize audio coverage in a digital environment before a single speaker was hung. This ensured that the spatial limitations did not compromise the audience experience, delivering consistent, high-quality audio throughout the venue.
A Collaborative Success
The success of this project was rooted in strong collaboration. We were honored to provide the timely technical support required for the QSC deployment, working alongside Angie Ang and the expert team at SL Pro Group.
Kalaiarasan K, Technical Director at SIFAS, noted that the QSC system was “well-suited to the space, providing a rich and immersive audio experience in an open-air environment”.
At Sindo Exports, we believe that the future of the arts lies in how intelligently they are presented and sustained. We are thrilled to have played a role in helping SIFAS amplify their traditions for a new generation.
